What's included in every mowing visit
A mow is not just a mow. Each service call covers the full cut, not the fast version:
- Mowing at the right height for the season. We raise the deck in July and August so the grass shades its own roots and holds moisture through heat.
- Edging along driveways, sidewalks and curbs. Clean lines are the difference between a cut lawn and a maintained one.

- Blowing off every hard surface so no clippings are left on your driveway, walkways or patio.

Weekly or bi-weekly: which one do you need?
Most Fairfield County lawns need weekly mowing from April through June, when cool season grasses put on their heaviest growth. Bi-weekly works in midsummer once growth slows, and again in late fall.
The one-third rule
Never remove more than one third of the blade in a single cut. Take off more and the grass diverts energy into regrowing leaf instead of root, which leaves it thinner and more prone to weeds. If your lawn is growing fast enough that a two week gap means scalping it, you need weekly service.
Not sure which fits? We'll tell you honestly after looking at your property. Some yards genuinely do fine on bi-weekly and we'd rather set the right schedule than sell you visits you don't need.

Bagging, mulching and clippings
We mulch clippings back into the lawn by default. Clippings are roughly 4% nitrogen by weight and break down within a couple of weeks, which returns nutrients to the soil and cuts how much fertilizer your lawn needs.
They do not cause thatch. That's a persistent myth. Thatch comes from stems and roots, not leaf clippings.
We'll bag on request, and we bag automatically when growth has gotten ahead of the schedule after heavy rain, or when clippings would clump and smother the turf underneath.
Mowing is one piece of a healthy lawn
Cutting on schedule keeps a lawn tidy. It won't fix thin turf, compacted soil or a weed problem on its own. Most Lancaster lawns we take over need one or two other things:
- Core aeration in early fall, to relieve the compacted clay soil common across Fairfield County and let water and nutrients reach the root zone.
- Overseeding right after aeration, which thickens the stand and crowds out weeds before they establish.

No. We just need access to the yard. If you have a locked gate, let us know how to get in.
What happens when it rains on my service day?
We move you to the next available day that week. Mowing saturated turf tears roots and leaves ruts, so we wait it out rather than damage your lawn.
Do you mow year round?
Mowing runs roughly April through October in central Ohio. Outside that we shift to leaf cleanup and snow removal, so your property stays covered all twelve months.
